Finishing touches.

A few years ago, my husband and I decided to remodel our home. And it wasn't a little renovation where we had to use the guest bath instead of the master for a few weeks. Oh no, it was a full-on, no kitchen for 3 months type of project! Fortunately for me, my husband is a very talented contractor, so not only did we have complete freedom to do what we wanted, we also saved a bundle on labor costs. The only downside: it took longer. A lot longer. In fact, there are still things here and there that aren't finished. They may not be visible to the average house guest, but we know they're there. And although I can't take credit for the hard labor (I primed/painted one wall and was fired), I can say that we collaborated well on the interior design aspects.

So in order to add some finishing touches to our living room, which, until recently, had nothing on the walls, I channeled my inner Design*Sponge and made some improvements. Nothing major, just hung some photo frames and added a few accents, but boy oh boy, what a difference!

Photos (top to bottom): Picture frame arrangement in hallway; frames from IKEA. George Nelson bench (I plan on hanging a framed print above it); won on EBay. Accent pillows on sofa; Stockholm series from IKEA. 7x10' shag rug from Target.
