Over the weekend I met up with Mason's play group for Toddler Time finger painting at the New Children's Museum. I had never been but a few of my friends who had taken their kids had nothing but rave reviews. At first I thought the museum was geared towards kids that are a little older than Mason, but after going my view has changed entirely. In fact, I ended up with a membership!
Anyway, we had a blast and Mason was really into the painting. After the masterpieces were created, we danced in the "Barn Room" (an awesome space for kids under 2), did some more exploring and then ate lunch in the cafe (I was also impressed by the food/drink selection – all healthy and organic choices). By the time lunch was over it was well into Mason's nap time so we left. I didn't have a chance to explore all of the exhibits, so I'm planning our next visit soon.
Update: We're going back this weekend with our good friend, Tiffany. Come out and join us!

First Impressions
It's time for Spring cleaning. Spring reorganizing. Spring refreshing. And as a part of this momentous occasion, we want to give our front door a facelift. Right now, the door is, well, a plain front door made from wood with a dark stain. Our house is grey, so any color would work but I'm not sure the HOA would be so keen on a bright yellow front door. So we're going to go black. I'm so excited to see how it turns out!
I promise to post before and after pictures, but for now, here's where some of our inspiration came from.

Easter
We spent Easter morning at a lovely brunch at our friend Tiffany's house, which she hosts every year, accompanied by an Easter egg hunt at the small park at the end of our street. It's really perfect because Tiffany's back yard opens up to the park, making it a communal space, ideal for all the kids to run and play.
This year was extra special because Mason has started walking - well, almost walking. He does a lot of assisted walking with the push-walker and using our help. He had a blast watching the other kids and was obsessed with crawling through the play tunnel.

Major Milestone
I have major news. And I mean MAJOR. Mason took his very first, unassisted steps this past weekend! And what's even better? We got it on camera!
